Note: This course requires some prior experience in 4 shaft Weaving - for example the Introduction to Weaving Course

Block Weaves and layers are key components of Handloom Weaving and Design. 

This 6 month module covers Lace blocks, Summer and Winter and Double / Multilayer Cloth on 4 shafts.

Sampling will lead to the design and production of your own article using one of the structures learned in the course. The program includes a preparatory theory session (online) before each full Sunday together, and a follow-up project celebration.

Students supply yarns of their own choice with guidance from Ilka.

4 Full Saturdays: May 23, June 20, July 18 & August 15

4 Theory Saturdays (10am -12noon online): May 9, June 6, July 4 and August 1

1 Project Completion Celebration - Saturday October 3

Course Cost : $540 (or $140 deposit and 8 x $50/fortnightly instalments).
