Learn to weave your own fabric from scratch!

No weaving experience required.

This comprehensive 6 week course guides you in the use of a 4 shaft table loom to weave your own cloth. Enjoy the satisfaction of taking yarn right through to finished fabric. We start by learning to dress the loom and weave a small sample, and then plan and produce a simple article of your own design like a bag, scarf, cushion, or table runner. I supply a 4 shaft loom to keep with you and use throughout the course (and some weeks after). A full set of thorough notes and all sample yarns are also provided.  It’s pretty lovely!

Dates:  6 Saturdays - 10am - 4pm

April 6, 13 & 20, and May 4, 11 & 18

Plus a celebratory ‘Show & Tell gathering some weeks later when looms are returned and finished projects celebrated! (Date to be arranged at the group’s convenience).

Cost: $520

Includes sample yarn, comprehensive notes and our follow-up show & tell session.  Loom and tools can be borrowed for the duration of the course at no extra cost.

Flexible payment plans also available - Email Ilka to arrange an instalment plan that works for you :)

Mount Alexander LETS Pods are also accepted as payment.

I must say I have missed our weaving Saturdays but have been busy on my loom. I am enjoying it so much :-)

To call Ilka White’s Intro to Weaving class ‘inspiring’ is quite an understatement.

Ilka is an excellent teacher. I’d enrol in any class she’s giving. She has the patience of a saint!

The introduction to Weaving course was very enjoyable, lots of fun, informative and very well taught. It was a lot to cover but the pace was very suited to each individual in the course. No one was made feel left behind and equally those who were more capable were able to go ahead. That we could borrow the loom to take home between classes was fabulous and that we could hang onto the loom even after the completion of the course to make our own project was great. Well worth the money.
